Fountain Pen Instructions

Carefully unscrew the nib from the body of the pen. Install the ink cartridge or pump into the back of the nib, you will feel them "click" into place and screw the nib into the body of the pen. Do not allow the pen to freeze, the ink is water based and can leak when the pen unfreezes. To fill the pump, unscrew the nib from the pen body and then turn the screw on the top of the pump until the plunger is all the way down. Place the nib into the ink and turn the screw in the opposite direction, this will draw the ink into the pump. Once filled, clean the excess ink off of the nib with a soft cloth and reassemble the pen. Ink flow from a cartridge is unidirectional and the nib may clog. To clear a clog gently squeeze the ink cartridge until ink flows. If the ink does not flow, the nib may need to be cleaned under a gentle stream of warm water. By using a pump, ink flow is bidirectional and this keeps helps to prevent the nib from becoming clogged. Always use a good quality ink, that has no solids and never use "India Ink". Ink cartridges and bottled ink are availble from most well stocked stationary supply stores and we keep ink cartridges in stock.
